What a day

It is hard to come down from the clouds after such a great weekend with some of my favourite people at the inaugural Aussie Bloggers Conference 2011.

There was  much to learn and some many beautiful stories told on 'My blog my story' which was one of my favourite sessions along with the crowd sourced keynote speaker ...blog readings.

For me , it was all about connecting with my community. The community of people with whom I have developed relationships over the last few years .

Putting a face to well, and lesser known, but much loved names and hearing the real voices of many ... some very surprising ones. Gabbing with and embracing bloggers from across the continent. I can't remember everyone and I'd feel terrible if I left you out.

Trying to listen to great speakers, moderators and follow the twitter stream was also very challenging.

I applaud the team of ladies who made it possible. We all thank you   Brenda , Tina , Veronica , Nicole and Karen for an amazing effort.

It's hard to face the reality of the mundane, the  bills, the noise, the shamozal of family life, cleaning ( all the awesome cleaning product in the swag bags will be very handy one day) and  the laundry ...my washing machine croaked on Wednesday. I took two loads to my in-laws Wednesday. I did 3 loads at my mum's when I collected my boys after the Ausblogcon Sunday . It meant I also got a hot cooked lunch - thanks mum.

The dinner/dance was amazing fun. I haven't had as much fun in years ...well away from my family.
Thanks to Marilyn @Live first write later I was able to stay in her place. I feel I cheated getting to go at the last minute - it was worth it.

I don't know how much I'll change about my blog. I have a blog makeover coming and I have a lot to think about in terms of the directions I should go. I am enjoying the journey though and proud to be called a blogger even if a lot of my real life community don't understand it.

♥ Never miss a post

Funny things I <3 - Scrolling Sunday (just for today)

Secret Agent Mama - posted this yesterday - Scrolling Saturday (sorry I am a bit late)
Melissa at Such Simple Pleasures and Coleen at Manners and Moxie have introduced a new “meme“. Basically, you just go back in your archives, dig up an old blog post, repost it, and let it get some new love! Hope you enjoy this flash back in time.
So , maybe I have a lot of few posts that I can repost or then again maybe I just tell you about them or link them or maybe not. I iz lazy and time poor sometimes.

Yes, I should be doing something else but have you seen thiz site.

I wrote a post on it here but no-one commented - is it just me that wants at least ten one person to comment. Someone wish I could remember to thank them wrote a great piece about whether we blog for ourselves or so that others will read & comment. I sit on the fence. I journal about things that interest me , my twin things and my precious boys. I have a lot of stuff I want to blog about but haven't - slowly I am coming out of my deep dark shell to reveal my innermost thoughts and anxieties.

I don't have a potty mouth (LOL - here at least but don't ask my teen *eek* or the neighbours double *eek*) , I don't blog too much about my ever so perfect husband (no - you can't meet him and no you can't have his email address .I haven't shown him how to use the computer on purpose) and save for happy snaps of my little boys my photography talents are hit and miss - lucky and just as well they do lots of cute things for me to blog cause I wouldn't be doing Blog 365.

I crave comments like I crave chocolate LOL. I try to make genuine comments on lots of blogs but sometimes I feel very discouraged that they don't return to visit me - even some I know are only small blogs. I am getting paranoid that maybe no-one is really interested and my comments aren't worth it either. I see who visits me sometimes in my widgets but many don't comment. I am thankful they care to visit at all - so please drop in again. I am baking a Banana Walnut Caramel cake tomorrow

Well on to brighter and funnier than I stuff ...

'Crikey' - in the immortal words of Steve Irwin it is funny and Google page rank is 7 /10 so obviously a few people <3.
Lolinate you blog here - mine won't work at the moment *sigh* it was funny b4.

Aussie Bloggers Forum and Bigpond Part I

I joined the Aussie Bloggers Forum and if you click the shiny new button in my side bar you can see what I am talking about.

I am discovering a few new Aussie Blogs, which I love, and discovering new tools and tricks. There is so much to learn about blogging , ranking , Alexa - (it tells you where your blog ranks in the world)and much more.

It is a lot of fun too so if you haven't checked it out already - what have you got to lose (except a few hours blogging). It is busting with a who's who of Aussie Bloggers and some expats and other nationalities too.

Everyone is invited ...the more the merrier.Of course you get to rub shoulders with some A'Listers and Z' listers because we all have something to say. They are all listening attentively too (see post below) and are keen to answer my questions on blogging and share opinions /plug in's and widgets.

It seems a wonderful community of experienced and inexperienced (like me) mates helping each other and connecting across the blogosphere. You can be heard and seen and the advice is free. So what are you waiting for ?

Bigpond Part 1

This morning before 8am there was a knock on the door ... I was in lounge /dining looking for clothes (see below). My eldest, I had fortunately just woken minutes before, was up to answer the door. DH was in the shower. It was my new modem /setup disc from Bigpond.

Three days ago I got a call offering me the 'Liberty bundled home/internet package' because we had been good customers since 1994. The Customer service representative lady took 2.5 hrs (I kid you not) to convince encourage me to sign up and then actually do it (2 -15mins hrs). I was ready in 5 secs to cut her off abruptly because I heard the 10 sec delay (of the telemarketer variety) but I was listening luckily.

It was a very long time but the deal was good. She said would be activated in 2 weeks. Yesterday, I get a SMS to say it would be ready today but I didn't eevn have my new modem at that stage. (The CSR said I would then have 20 days to activate it.)

Today, I thought my Internet had died ... I couldn't get it to work ... ho hum 'boys would you like a story'? So I read Horton hears a Who by Dr Seuss
They continued to trash the room at an alarming rate while I read aloud - 'LOUD' but they didn't want to sit still. Funny, I picked this one - unconsciously running with my theme on hearing and listening ... insert freaky music . I only just realised.

I digress ... they didn't want 'no' story which was actually very long for a toddler. So I sat tapping/refreshing my useless keyboard/screen - bored but with a mountain of washing to fold/hang and who cares attitude!

Then I realised that maybe Bigpond had already disconnected my other ISP ??? I rang them - 'yes they have' - was the answer ... b*gger that was quick and I didn't even want it...yet.

I madly re-installed the new modem and self installed everything - wanting to get my fix ! After a few hiccups and incorrect password ... got a new one and presto ...back online.

tomorrow I will tell you part 2.
