It's been raining ...torrential at times this week.
It stopped Thursday, briefly.
Though sustained heavy rainfall in recent days has led to flooding that has caused significant damage to many areas.
The farm is okay we don't have crops to harvest.
We've been home to Sydney and back again.
Friday morning was clearing, though everything was soaked,muddy & slippery.
It didn't start raining till after lunch.
Torrents.
DH also came off his bike yesterday on his way to the other side of the farm to get the tractor, on the way back the tractor got bogged.
I didn't hear my phone ; I was calling him on the UHF radio but something wasn't working right so he didn't hear me nor I him.
DH hurt his right (calf) leg, shoulder & ribs. Then he had a 3km walk back home (to our side of the farm)He wasn't hurt badly, that I can see, no blood, but is very sore.
The creek at the front to the property is well under water - our only way out too.

I'm grateful
- For a dry bed .
- Electricity ...to boil my kettle & the shower.
- Handme down clothes because Friday the Brothers went through 3-4 sets each and I appreciate all the lovely extras we have now.

The silver lining ... the Brothers had a ball in the puddles.
They escaped when I went to get my camera and since they were already wet (2 & 3 rd change of clothes for the day) I let them free range.

Sometimes I think people are more grateful when they're facing really difficult problems. I think it makes you appreciate things more.
It is wonderful to play in the mud, my son loves it. Hope hubby is OK. Yes to get through tough times it is wonderful to concentrate on what we are grateful for because cravings only cause sorrow. Charmaine

Update -We took a drive , rather than a walking slide in the mud, to the creek.
It's gone down since 6pm yesterday.
Hub says we should be able to cross it now unless we get more torrential rain or runoff elsewhere.
We are high & dry inside and the rain today is a constant light drizzle.
53mm rain in the new rain gauge since 6pm last night.
Hub is sore but soldiering on with our weekend project.
Small fry kept asking to go play in puddles ...
In the puddles now sans clothes.
Woot!
Those boys of yours will have THE best memories to laugh about in years to come.

Rain = puddles. So I guess rain = okay after all. But, dear lord!, can it stop now please!?!? x

Yes. I agree with you..it would be good for the rain to stop at your place now and just go on to someone that needs it! I hope your husband recovers quickly from his bumps.
Hubby is much better today; nothing broken.
He is having a 5 min 'swing' in the hammock.
The creek is down and a lovely neighbour ? cut the huge tree(branches) that were partially blocking the creek crossing.
The puddles are drying and the mud is still muddy.
Just checking back in to see how things are now......improved I hope. Jen
Gold medal in bogging tally = 7 vehicles (1 car, 2 4wd's, 2 tractors, tip truck and flat bed truck...one car actually bogged twice but 1st time we got it out easily).
Winch has been purchased ...one 4wd car out.
