I'm grateful it's
It's been a tough year dealing with my husband's cancer, his surgery, radiation therapy and the multitude of apprehensive feelings that the C word brings.
That’s when I considered , all things considered we have so much to be grateful for …
It's been raining ...torrential at times this week.
It stopped Thursday, briefly.
Though sustained heavy rainfall in recent days has led to flooding that has caused significant damage to many areas.
The farm is okay we don't have crops to harvest.
We've been home to Sydney and back again.
Friday morning was clearing, though everything was soaked, muddy & slippery.
It didn't start raining till after lunch.
Torrents.
DH also came off his bike yesterday on his way to the other side of the farm to get the tractor, on the way back the tractor got bogged.
I didn't hear my phone ; I was calling him on the UHF radio but something wasn't working right so he didn't hear me nor I him.
DH hurt his right (calf) leg, shoulder & ribs. Then he had a 3km walk back home (to our side of the farm)He wasn't hurt badly, that I can see, no blood, but is very sore.
The creek at the front to the property is well under water - our only way out too.
Baring a long walk
I'm grateful
- For a dry bed .
- Electricity ...to boil my kettle & the shower.
- Handme down clothes because Friday the Brothers went through 3-4 sets each and I appreciate all the lovely extras we have now.
- The NSW State Emergency Service volunteers for excelling in emergency management. They are the response agency for floods, storms and tsunamis in NSW.
More than 10,000 volunteers give up their time in 228 locations throughout NSW to assist their communities during floods, storms and other emergencies.
For emergency help in floods and storms, call the SES on
132 500
The silver lining ... the Brothers had a ball in the puddles.
They escaped when I went to get my camera and since they were already wet (2 & 3 rd change of clothes for the day) I let them free range.
The rain can stop NOW !!

Oh holy cow - yes, could it stop raining now before you all wash away! I mean breaking the drought is one thing...
Hope you have a safe and dry weekend. xxxCate
So cute....playing in the mud.
Sometimes I think people are more grateful when they're facing really difficult problems. I think it makes you appreciate things more.
It is wonderful to play in the mud, my son loves it. Hope hubby is OK. Yes to get through tough times it is wonderful to concentrate on what we are grateful for because cravings only cause sorrow. Charmaine
Those beautiful boys look like they're having the time of their life. I hope the rain clears and that your husband's health is on the up. Thanks for sharing such a lovely post that's really made me think about all the things I have to be grateful for.

the boys look happy and so glad you can count your blessings in your challenging time.
keep safe and well.

Omigosh, I was laughing at your comment on my post and was able to pick your post out of the blog hop by title, giggling to myself. Seriously, this is not giggly stuff, this is BIG RAIN!! I hope it eases off and gets back to normal quickly. Jen
You have such a great, positive outlook on life and that is so inspirational!
Hope the rain eases so you can get back to enjoying some sunshine & outside play!
xo
Gorgeous photos of your boys! I admire your spirit in adversity.
Best wishes for Christmas.
Jodie
You are one heck of a women. You have been though so much and are a real reminder to me what adversity means and facing it with courage. Have a safe and dry weekend xx
Update -We took a drive , rather than a walking slide in the mud, to the creek.
It's gone down since 6pm yesterday.
Hub says we should be able to cross it now unless we get more torrential rain or runoff elsewhere.
We are high & dry inside and the rain today is a constant light drizzle.
53mm rain in the new rain gauge since 6pm last night.
Hub is sore but soldiering on with our weekend project.
Small fry kept asking to go play in puddles ...
In the puddles now sans clothes.
Woot!
Those boys of yours will have THE best memories to laugh about in years to come.
You're a great mum, Trish :)
OMG, what a bloody awful week!! The fact that you've fronted up with your fab gratefuls says such a lot about your nature, Trish.
Rain = puddles. So I guess rain = okay after all. But, dear lord!, can it stop now please!?!? x
I love your pictures at the end. Silver lining indeed!
I hope thing's start to look up for you and your family. You are such an inspiration with all your strength! x
A rainbow after the storm. I'm glad you are all safe amidst the volume of water.
Wow they are some cute wee boys you have there - they are loving the mud!
I love your positive attitude.
beautiful pictures!
Wow, what a week you've had. It is so wonderful to read your amazing positivity and the photos of the boys smiling in the mud are gorgeous! x
Yes. I agree with you..it would be good for the rain to stop at your place now and just go on to someone that needs it! I hope your husband recovers quickly from his bumps.
Hubby is much better today; nothing broken.
He is having a 5 min 'swing' in the hammock.
The creek is down and a lovely neighbour ? cut the huge tree(branches) that were partially blocking the creek crossing.
The puddles are drying and the mud is still muddy.
Just checking back in to see how things are now......improved I hope. Jen
Gold medal in bogging tally = 7 vehicles (1 car, 2 4wd's, 2 tractors, tip truck and flat bed truck...one car actually bogged twice but 1st time we got it out easily).
Winch has been purchased ...one 4wd car out.
