You might also add first names / last names of yourself / children if they are different . Remember to keep an ICE (In CASE OF EMERGENCY) number in your mobile phone too- so if somethings happens to you they know who to contact.

*The 24-hour telephone health advice lines is currently available to residents of the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, the Northern Territory, Tasmania, South Australia and WA.

Very important to have all of that. Great job.

We get a lot of those cardboard fridge magnet-type ones with local and state-wide emergency numbers each year so the fridge is plastered with them, some I cut out and laminate to tuck into Aspie teen's wallet/swimming bag/backpack/etc.

I popped in to see a friend, she was flat out with usual Mum of 3 stuff. I told her to go pick up Mr Kinder and I would wait with the other kids, to save the whole kids in the car, out, in etc.

I decided to also unpack her dishwasher while she was gone. When I turned around the crawling baby was swallowing down all the powder that had not dissolved in the last wash.

FREAK OUT

I searched and called Poisions help line, all was ok, (apparently Finish is pretty safe) but, had the numbers been on the fridge it would have been much faster.

Great point Trish!

Hey Trish - great idea to have your phone number and details handy in an emergency - it would be so easy to forget one's own details when in shock!

I like this list, it is better than the one we use at work, do you mind if I borrow yours?

Great list. I really need to find where our list is. We did have one, once...

Another good idea is to list the nearest cross street for your address. Emergency services will usually ask this, especially if your street is long. This is the kind of information that children and visitors particularly wouldn't know, so it's usual to include it with your address.

@ Beet - only just put mine up properly.

@Jayne - yes that's where I got the idea and expanded it to be more mother friendly =) - so if Dad is minding kids he would know who to call.
Good idea for children/my teen who can't spell his street name.

@Lani - I am ever so practical ...maybe somewhat boring.

@Claire -Phew !!
I had same problem when my 2 yr drank bottle of Bactrim suspension ( he was on it daily and I had it packed in esky bag to take away for the weekend) I couldn't find the number in the phone book though I knew it wasn't an emergency.

Louisa - thanks

Mandy - been there ...had to call an ambulance once myself to my other 2 yr was all flustered trying to spell/give numbers.

Del - go ahead I expanded mine to include a few extras...I am going to laminate it (soon)

I wonder why some 'agency' doesn't have ready to print lists for such emergency numbers 'State' specific.

Susan - thanks - good point. In our business where we had to deliver bukly goods we always asked nearest cross street .

I was thinking about adding it in before but my list was getting too long.

I thought about adding plumber/sparky etc but ditched it.
That's a whole new list ;).

Very helpful. I've been stalking Healthcare direct, but I didn't know the 112 number.

It's the 'my phone number' that I always forget to leave for the baby sitter!
Also, I have my street name written phonetically in case it is one of the kiddos that has to ring emergency sevices because our street name is quite complicated (fingers crossed it never happens though!!)

This is such a good idea. I have a list of numbers like the poisons hotline, 13 health (QLD healthcare number) 000 etc but it isn't as comprehensive as yours. I think it's a great idea so I'll be adding more to it tomorrow. Thanks for blogging about something so important.

Would be fantastic if you could get it into Pdf format, I would be downloading it for sure!
