What's your battle sign ?

Yesterday was World Kindness Day ...it should be something we practice everyday.

Perhaps it could also read ...

Everyone you know or don't know is facing some kind of battle in their lives.
What if we all wore a sign to describe our battle. What would your sign read ? What is your battle ?

I saw this post tweeted first by Kim@allconsuming and RT'ed by others. It really made me stop, think & listen.

I know we are all busy but you should read this.
So if you please can you all just take three minutes to go and read this post Seeing past what it seems at Brave Girls Club:

How empathic are you to the post...care to share
Or you just adhere to the attitude of "I'm glad it's not me" when you read such stories.

Lastly... even if I never know what your battle is - I hope you win, or at least enjoy the fight.
It is also definitely something to think about before getting annoyed at someone too. :)
I have to think about my sign *sigh*.

What an amazing and courageous post! I am definitely of the belief that you should never judge anyone because you never really know what's going on - and that is partially because I know that I'm the sort of person who smiles a lot and never tells what's really going on with me. So although you will never see me with my sign on, I am constantly on the lookout for everyone elses(although I would never imagine to see one as brave as the one in that post). Thank you for sharing xxx

It is so true and if someone will take the time to encourage you along the way of your battle then you feel less lonely.
Lovely Post,
Grace

I agree Trish! The kinder we are, the better life is! For us and for those around us! Kindness wins!

You know, yesterday was my first day w/out kids for quite some time. I went to the movies. While in there my MIL rang so I ducked out to talk to her (incase Grover had fallen ill or some such)and happened to see a tweet about me being selected as one of the Voices of the Year for next years Aussie Bloggers Conference. I was just a bit chuffed. I sent some texts to my husband and to the organisers.

At the end of the movie a woman tore into me for using my iPhone in the cinema, that I was so rude and that it had ruined her experience.

While I apologised profusely I felt like saying, 'Hi, my name is Kim. I have four children, one of them has significant special needs. This year has seen us weather my mum, who lives with us, having two hip replacements, my son having major surgery, my husband losing his job, my husband getting a new job but significantly less pay and we're all just recovering from having whooping cough. I'm really sorry I disturbed your time in here, but please be gentle with me. This is the first time I've had to myself in months and something really really nice just happened to me.'

But I didn't. I just apologised and sat in an empty cinema with hot tears.

We have a saying in Ireland (I am sure others use it too) that 'What goes around comes around' so it is always better to be kind and non-judgemental because you never know when you will need it yourself! It is a phrase I use a lot as it was part of my upbringing. Have you heard it before? :) Jen
