Days away from change...the new dawn

Every day we are just days away from change ... if we want to be
or like it or not things happen beyond our control that thrust changes upon us.

I saw and loved this yesterday via Planning Queen.

We asked moms if they could go back to before their first baby, what would they tell themselves. These are their answers. Everyone in the video is a mom :)

It touched me, the background song too. Days away from Change.

I've been following the #tweetyour16yearoldself trend and it is both poignant & funny ...even some sad ones. One person started it and it went viral overnight.

After I watched the you tube video it got me thinking about what would you (or I) say to yourself before you had your first baby [or babies] ?

I'd say get more sleep now !
Not leaving enough time or wasting time on stupid things ... makes me rush , hurry my children or yell at them ; it stresses everyone and leads to disaster.

I love my boys and I hate being a banshee, monster mum who is crazy because she is time stressed & tired. It is all my own fault.

What can I do to be a better and more patient mum? (it is worthwhile reading the article)

First get more sleep, exercise (I can find time if I forgo FB or twitter or TV) and eat as well as you can ...

Whether it's the best of times or the worst of times, it's the only time we've got. ~Art Buchwald

Those who make the worst use of their time are the first to complain of its shortness. ~Jean de La Bruyère ...

GUILTY !

After my littany of woe is me yesterday I decided I have to ditch my woeful attitude.

For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin - real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way. Something to be got through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life. ~Fr. Alfred D'Souza

Oh and my top 5 things of things I don't want to do ...sometime soon but maybe not all at once.
  1. Don't complain about anything for a week
  2. Don't eat fast food for a fortnight
  3. Don't go on facebook for a week
  4. Don't stay up past 10pm for a week
  5. Don't have overdue library books for more than a week ;)

I am joining in Grateful Saturday at Maxabella's place. This Saturday I am grateful that today is a new day and another step closer to being the change I want to be. My husband will be grateful if I chose more sleep ;) by going to bed earlier.

Be kind to yourself. You are a gifted, generous and kind woman going through some really big challenges. Above it all, you are a dearly loved child of God and He is with you. xxx

Love that video. I was lucky enough to see it when I was pregnant and it made me relax and know it was all going to be OK.

I think you have the best signature on the blogosphere! A great post Trish. So much to read and think about. Honestly, I don't think I would tell my pregnant self anything - it is best to discover the joys and woes gradually in your own time I think? I don't think I would do too well with your list of 5 do nots. The best of British luck to you :) Happy grateful Saturday er... Sunday..
