Smiley Saturday

Smiley Saturday & Days of Grace

  1. The biggest smiles in our house this week were on Thursday day we said goodbye to the plaster cast after 6 weeks and 2 days.It had to be sawn off with the "tickle machine".
  2. Then when they finished my little guy sat up and said "thank you" unprompted , flashed a smile at the two physios , they were charmed by him. We were so proud of him.
  3. So was the smile when he got run about with his brother in the Kid's hospital playground.
  4. The bath time smile was the best of all. It's the simple things in life we miss the most.
  5. Life is so much easier again.I am so thankful I don't have to carry him everywhere and he is walking more every day.

What a gorgeous smile - and remembering getting my cast off a few years ago - I know exactly how he feels. What's been his favourite thing to do since having his leg and foot back. Mine was getting wet all over :)

Hallelujah on the cast removal!!! Was he able to walk on it straightaway or was it a bit "wobbly"?

@Jeanette - he was smiling all day

@Jodi - he had a bath as soon as we got home at lunchtime ... he loved sinking into the water and lying on his belly again.

Gattina - he sure was

Lilly - I was almost in tears I was so happy.

@Jeanie - he was on it in minutes but they told us to wait to see the Dr but it was the physio so I had to stop him for almost an hour ...poor kid was so keen to walk. Then he was a bit wobbly and still walking with leg out straight at times.

@ Blossom - I know it was disgusting .I felt such a bad mummy.
I washed it as soon as we got home. The plaster had gotten a bit damp near his foot and rubbed at the front of the foot joint and behind his knee so it was a bit red and raw.I couldn't scrub him down too much.
I like unhindered anyway ... an dyes he was just so happy to have his freedom.
