It's Tuesday again and I have had a few screw ups
SU1.Last night at 11.05pm my phone alarms ... to remind me I due to supply Morning tea for playgroup (adults)...11 hrs later. I rush about and get the dry ingredients out, measure them ready and drop into bed.
I get up 7am this morning I busy myself cooking Caramel banana muffins ... a recipe I planned to post yesterday when I forgot it was Menu plan Monday.
Firstly ...
*Preheat oven to 180 degrees
*Combine these 7 ingredients ...
- 1 banana, mashed
- 1/2 cup milk (this is the measurement I couldn't remember on Saturday)
- 1 & 1/2 cups self raising flour
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup lightly crushed bran flakes (I used Weetbix)
- 2 eggs
- 90gm of melted butter ...
- Spoon mixture evenly into 12 deep , greased muffin pans.
- Spoon NESTLE top n fill caramel on muffin mixture and swirl through (or dollop and leave)
- Bake for 25 -30 mins ...
- Cool in pan before turning out .
SU 3. I made Chocolate dream bars
(Bettina's recipe too) ... this time the baking and cooking were all good - [I only forgot the vanilla essence (oops .. and I just remembered this half way through composing post) . ]
I was
Ps I still salvaged it , I cut it into smaller and more even pieces spread choc icing and kept for the family. At least it wasn't burnt this time.
Then it was a packet mix of Betty Crocker brownie mix to the rescue - I then realise why I didn't like it last time ... reduced fat variety and it's too gooey. I was only 15 mins late and lucky morning tea isn't till near the end.
SU 4. The teen didn't do his English homework ... again and the teacher called me at home ... Boy is he going to be unhappy...when the Internet access is denied and he has to write 2 pages in a journal to prove he read the book (The Outsiders ... which is what we will be)
SU5. I turned my back for a few
Yes ...they had turned the stove on ...because they move the chairs around the house to access no go areas.
Thank God , I heard the banging of crockery (and yes I did thank HIM) - the remnants of my Chocolate dream bars were in the Tupperware container on top of the very same chopping board and the plastic was slightly warm but no damage.
I hope I can find some air freshener to get rid of the burnt smell.
In last few days they have also emptied half a bottle of my new pink Dove Body wash onto shower floor.
I bought it to support Breast cancer awareness month. ( I left them sitting in my ensuite shower ,with water off while I grabbed their towels from few metres away) . They sprayed half the new pink deodorant as well which they nicked from inside my vanity another day. At the farm they reached up and got a bottle of Toothpaste gel. Twin 1 emptied half a bottle of Colgate breath strips gel onto Twin2's head (he smelt like mint for a few days).
Standing right beside me this morning ( but while I was tying my hair into a pony tail and both my hands were busy)- T1 took lid off some cream and squirted a large amount out. FAIL !
I could go on but ... it will take me to Christmas ...which is in 64 days, 6 hours ... now who's counting ? (have you started shopping or preparing.. * note to self - I must check the Christmas blog)
Pps they just emptied my handbag , took all the coins and cards from my purse too.Now one is screaming MY money... mine.
I have more screw ups but I really have to go
Don't forget to go say hi to Bettina for more Screw ups.
Ppps ..edited to correct numerous spelling and grammatical errors and my biggest SU - I forgot to cancel the appointment I had with the ear specialist Friday when we decided to go to the farm Thursday night instead...oops
♥
Never miss a post

Oh Trish, what a jam packed life you have - in everything you do I bet there is only a small number of screw ups. You are making me hungry with all that talk about muffins (with or without butter). Is there a Christmas blog?
Wow - you really have had a time of it! It sound like you still have your sense of humour though which is the important thing.
Those caramel & banana muffins sound delicious. I'm blogging about a cream cheese and caramel frosting that would go great with them.
Thank you for reminding me how simple my life is! I've had days like that...and I don't even have kids yet!
One time my brothers darling little angels decided that they needed to test out the baby powder. There were four of them and a full bottle of powder. When we found them the entire room was covered in white. All four kids looked like ghosts and there was a cloud of powder permeating the air. My brother was furious! So, I can imagine the moments of toothpaste and bodywash.
Your post really gave me a good chuckle. Good luck with the walking challenge.
Bwahahahahahahaha. You may never sit down and relax again. Toddlers are so funny when they belong to someone else. HUGS!
Wow sounds like you have your hands full. You've made me hungry with all those goodies.

Thanks for keeping the day light and funny!
As my kids are breaking, no washing things tonight I'll think of you!

@Lilly - yes I have to ho ho - it's off to work I go and it down for some inspiration. (oops did I really say ho ho).LOL SU's happen here on an hourly basis.
@PQ - yes I do thank you - they keep me from going twinsane !
@Sassy - mmmm I will check it out.I have a great link to share with you too.
@Mary : LOL sadly my children aren't the sole cause of my SU's - I accept my FAILings as they keep me humble and laughing.
@MOmof one - my friend and I did that with flour as toddlers apparently - what a sight your brothers would have been... off to throw all the bbay powder in the bin
Thanks the 10,000 steps is for heart fitness.
@Janice - LOL you are not wrong - that is a great quote ! I am stealing it !!!
@Amy- I am making myself hungry ...now where did I hide those muffins.
@Cara- LOL -thanks I needed the laughs too heehee
You have to keep a close eye on those chocolate dream bars. lol
I don't ever turn mine out. I ice and let them cool completely in the pan before removing as I slice it up.
Awww, sorry, I know it would have been a mess to clean up at the time, but I am imagining your two mischievous little fellows and am chuckling away here.
Thanks for keeping it light as I am reading the blogs. I had a good laugh but the burnt chopping board that stinks.
Here for ICLW.
I have two year old twins as well and the chair moving thing has not pleased me. Handy for washing their hands, not so much to get to stuff on my counters. (ICLW)
iclw ...
okay, first off, was it terrible that I was giggling through your entire post? But secondly, damn, what a day you had!
And thirdly - MORE food talk. Sheesh! I swear, there is a good majority of iclw-ers talking about food today. :)
scarily enough, I understand how all those situations you mentioned happen! I won't be calling the social workers on you :)
omg. As I published my comment, the picture of your boys 4 days old came up right next to the comment box. So freaking adorable.
All I can say to that is ........... Oh Dear!
I sit here chuckling - not at you, but because I've had those days and can soooooooooo relate. And yet it seems like you turned a good many of those SU's into salvaged moments. If nothing else the SU's give us something to blog about, right?
Thanks for the info about To Write Their Names in the Sand and for stopping by my neck of the woods.
Hugs for a good ICLW week!
Thank you SO much for your kind words on my blog. I really appreciate it. (((hugs)))
Oh my, I have had days like that! I do have to admit that I had to chuckle. (and wipe the sweat from my brow at the thought of my own twins turning two and getting into everything)
Hope you were able to find a little time to rest--bwahahahahahahaha (as if there ever is a time to relax with twins!) It sounds nice, though, doesn't it? :-)
Oh my gosh, I know you weren't laughing at the time - but I couldn't help but laugh at all the antics of your boys. There must never be a dull moment in your household. :)
I've been Christmas planning for a month now, but it's only because I'm a compulsive planner. ;)
thats sounds like a typical day at my place....
Enjoyed this "taste" of life with family, esp. toddlers, again.
Been so very long...
Hectic, but so full of life and love.
And hugs, along with the mischief.
Enjoy, girl.
It goes by way too fast!
Jlo
So funny when they're not yours! Here's to a new week? :-)
