I've never been the girl that's had the five year plan

So this memory popped up today.

It seems so long ago.

Five years ago - my goal was not to die.
Not that I had any control .

I had choices to stay as 'well' as I could and so far it's working. I work at it.

Funny that I enjoy her music and love her name. There are not many famous women named Trisha !
I have travelled so far since then.
Plans ? I have a few ongoing and yet I never tick everything off my list.

I'm better at one year plan. I can't even ...

five years ?

The first item on my list which was to

1. Start a list.
Meanwhile I’ll be getting on with
2. Five kms activity daily (run; walk. paddle or ride)
3. 1018 You vs year Challenge
4. Bike 3018 kms year
5. Lose fat, gain muscle ? (leaving this open)
6. Reach 75 Parkruns
7. Newcrest Orange Cycle Challenge 70kms
8. Gear up Girl 80kms Ride
9. Sign up for a Zoo 2 Zoo ride
10. 1 sec day app
11. In bed before 11pm 5 nights a week
12. BUG Ride once a month
13. Average 12,500 steps a day
14. Pink Triathlon
15. Volunteer x 2 month (parkrun, Meal on wheels or elsewhere)
16. Daily gratitude journal
17. Read 20 books : Listen 10 Audio books
18. One month Alcohol free

I'd be better trying to keep it simple.

Not everyone is blessed with more years - this also reminded me today how fragile life is . Take a moment to read Holly's final words. She passed away last week @27 yrs from a rare cancer called Sarcoma. I had a different Sarcoma too.

Are a five year plan kind of girl ? or guy ?

In my next 62 days

Dragon Boat Paddling Chinese New year with Breast Cancer Survivors (Dragons Abreast) in Feb.

In March : #7 & 8 plus a Gear up Girl ambassador ride this weekend.

Dragon Boat Paddling with Breast Cancer Survivors at National Dragon boating championships on Gold Coast is in between the two bike rides.

We're so alike! After my diagnoses, I'm much more spontaneous and long term plans make me a bit antsy because I know I don't know what's around the corner. That said, the flip side of having long term commitment issues mean that I really immerse myself in the present and strive to make the most of it. What a great list!

Separated at birth minus a few years.
Yes, i love the present and presents.
I love that manifesto for a simple life. In a few words it says it all. I've never been great at planning beyond a year, but am trying now to look beyond. There are walking challenges I want to do that need planning & training & saving & I don't want to keep saying one day. Wishing you a healthy 2018.

I have a walking challenge on my list 30-50km fundraising one. One day before the end of 2019. Interested ?
Wow Trish! You go girl! What I love about this is that you are feeling well enough to look ahead and be enthusiastic about ticking off some goals and challenges. AND have some fun along the way!

hi Sandra , always having fun except when ironing and I way behind on it. Hope you are well .
So good to see you back here blogging and what a great post this is. 5 years! Wow. And those many changes within you and your lifestyle just blow me away. Thank you for joining in the link up. Yours was one of my first I am sure. Each 5th week I am doing a kind of wordless prompt called Share Your Snaps if you want to come on along. Great to see you words and what is ahead for Trish!! Denyse xx Thanks for linking up for #lifethisweek 2/52. Next week's optional prompt is My Favourite Weather.

hi Denyse
I will try - I a so slack at committing to memes. So glad to see your recent health improvements.
The world changes way too fast to have 5 year goals, even 1 year seems a stretch to me. It's good to have some direction but there is also a need to adjust course depending on how the wind blows.

hi Jan , yes 1 year is still a stretch for me but it's good to stretch myself. I love this wind blows quote

I'm not a 5 year plan girl either. I just can't think that far in advance and besides ... we do not know what life will be like in 5 years. Things can change in an instant. It was 2012 I think when I first met you online (that's the year I started blogging) - so 5 to 6 years ago - right when you'd have been finishing with the chemo in the memory you shared. You've done some amazing stuff since then. You are so inspirational Trish. I hope your 2018 is a fabulous one! xo

Thank you Min.
BTW -love your tag line - on the blog. I am all for more zen in life.
I seem to year to year not really planning past that! Good luck with your park run goal... I’m just trying to make it to ten!

Hang in there jjalki06 ? Have you got to 10 yet ?
Hi Trish, somehow this came across my feed and it is now year 6 for you. Your energy is inspiring and thought provoking. Shortly it will be one year for me since diagnosis. I have to do those first scans and I know you will appreciate that feeling. I've not really put together as detailed a plan as yours since but generally to exercise more, spend less time labouring over decisions, commit to more family time (than work - this is a challenge for me) are a few key ones. You post has given me food for thought so I'll see what else I can add. Well done you!
Thanks for sharing good content.
