Wordless Wednesday : Gentlemen start your engines

No filter ...just a cloud of red dust.

No filter.

The dust delayed the start, the race program ; the red dust silver lining the kids got a chance to get up and close to the fender benders. IT was still excruciating .

Do you remember the speedway - and smash up derby  -with last car surviving the winner. (Fenders benders are different species )

I have been wanting to take my kids to something like this for YEARS! My home town of Goulburn does them (I think). It's on the to-do list.

Even though it was dusty I enjoy the thrill of it.
Great photos. I have never been to speedway but it sure looks like fun.

Even though it was dusty I enjoy the thrill of it. Normally not so dusty.
It looks like a boys paradise! I think I would need earplugs! LOL Great shots! I especially love the cloud of red dust shot! :-)

Even though it was dusty I enjoy the thrill of it. Not normally so dusty and not that loud unless they were doing burnouts on a special concrete pad.

Not normally so dusty - the water pump wasn't working so the water carter truck couldn't spray the track.
Boy heaven! I've never been to anything like this and must confess - it's not on my bucket list ;-)

You don't know what you are missing ;) Even though it was dusty I enjoy the thrill of it.
Hubster went to the drags last month and I've been thinking it'd be fun to go with him. I'd rather go in Winter though; I can't stand the heat!

That would be SO AWESOME! I've only gone to Archerfield Speedway (in Brisbane) once because its so far away, but I would totally go more often if it was closer. But I'm a closet speed junkie and clearly everyone else isn't.

I've never been to a smash up derby, but I'd like to. Looks like fun!
My boys would LOVE the derby, I've been a few times but not since we've had kids. I must remember to get the hubby to take them! They would LOVE the monster trucks xx

Even though it was dusty I enjoy the thrill of it - go with them. This wasn't derby but they still fender bend each other.
