Wordless Wednesday : Not smiling now

Really bad wind blown and hat head hair !
A friend took this about 6-7km from the finish.
They ran (pun intended) out of Zebra Zoom medals - so I'm waiting for it to be posted out.
"I run because it's so symbolic of life. You have to drive yourself to overcome the obstacles. You might feel that you can't. But then you find your inner strength, and realise you're capable of so much more than you thought." – Arthur Blank
I was never a runner though a fast walker. Two years ago I never thought I could run a 1/2 marathon and I have twice...still breathing !

There is no telling how many miles you will have to run while chasing a dream...
I may have quit putting off doing things tomorrow but that elusive Full marathon is about 2yrs away , maybe once I get over this.

Your second half! Fantastic. I've only ever done one full marathon and my body wasn't that keen on the whole thing, but halves are great! I did the Sydney marathon the year after the Sydney Olympics. It was really cool, but I'm just not designed for them.

Wow - you have my admiration Trish! I have tried to be a runner but my body won't let me. I even wrote a post about it. I have to accept being a walker and I'm ok with that - but I do admire those who can run! Bet you can't wait to get that medal. You certainly deserve it! :-) xo

Well done, my friend. Well done. I think I'm 2 years away from a marathon and I haven't had any of the physical challenges you've overcome. This is where you're just truly amazing and inspiring, Trish xxx

What an inspiration. I'm hoping to get back to fast walking after over a year off due to health. I've never been able to run but I would eventually like to give it a try.

Trish I am soooo proud of you! I never doubted you for a minute, but my heart is full of happy for your wonderful achievement. I love that Arthur Blank quote, after this, I don't think there's anything you can't or won't do! I can't wait to find out what you're going to do next. Go you!
