Lego Ninjago - Temple of Light ~ Giveaway

Review and Giveaway

I received the 'awesome' LEGO Ninjago – Temple of Light to review with my six year old sons [actually 6yrs 8 months today] and I have 2 to giveaway. The arrival qualifying me for Mother of the Year !

My boys, like most of their classmates, love Lego Ninjago and watch the animated cartoon  so they know the cast of characters and their fancy names. The names Lord Garmadon and Sensei Wu roll off their tongues familiarly.

While I cannot get my head around them , they laugh and say try again.

Despite the age range being 8-14yrs Joel and Sam were able to construct the Temple of Light and The Golden Mech with minimal help in just over an hour. I was very surprised they hardly needed my help at all *sob*.

They each choose one thing to build and helped each other as well. They followed the Lego instructions - easily.

I watched them, to save the little Lego bits from being knocked to the floor and to talk about the characters while they they were building together. I am fortunate to have a genuine interest in something that my boys kids love to do. I love watching the figure and temple take shape and the intense concentration of their faces.

The final epic battle for the Land of Ninjago has begun! Take Sensei Wu and Lloyd, the golden ninja, deep into The Temple of Light.

Sneak past Lord Garmadon and his minions to put the 4 elemental blades in place at the heart of the temple. Unite their elemental powers to awaken the Golden Mech for the final battle!

Open the temple, jump into the Golden Mech's cockpit, arm yourself with the Golden Mech sword and fight for the freedom of Ninjago! Defeat Lord Garmadon !

This very impressive set Includes Golden mech and 5 minifigures with weapons: Lloyd (golden ninja), Lord Garmadon, Sensei Wu, scout and warrior

  • Golden mech features poseable limbs, adjustable hat, cockpit with space for a mini-figure and a large golden sword.Golden mech stands 20cm tall
  • Temple has opening and closing sides - clever little hinges , 4 elemental blade holders, trapdoor, weapons rack, gong and a ladder .

  • Weapons include 4 elemental blades (fire, ice, lightning and earth), spear, ninja sword, 2 sai, crossbow with quiver, Lord Garmadon's staff, Sensei Wu's golden staff, katana and a golden mech sword. The weapons very important apparently.
The variety in the pieces available now (as compared to when DH & I were kids) is amazing. I am so impressed by the detail of this set.

PS : While I encourage creative thinking in free range Lego building I doing my bit to ensure they have ability to build from IKEA instructions in the future ...

You will be excited - I have 2 sets to giveaway thanks to

Haha Trish Ikea instructions should be taught from birth and a subject all of their own at school!! What a great giveaway sadly my 2 are a bit little for this lego, I just had to comment on your ikea bit!!
I am totes in for this one. My boys LOVE Ninjago. So, favourite characters: Mr6 likes Cole because he wears all black and is Earth Ninja. But he likes him best with his Golden Weapon (apparently this is very important). He also has a sneaky admiration for Nya, but he would never admit this in mixed company. Mr9 likes Kai, Ninja of Fire, mostly, I think, because his strength is attack, allowing him to throw himself on top of Mr6 when they are role-playing Ninjago.

I made a comment on my Facebook page the other day that Lego would seriously be the PERFECT toy - if only they could work out a way to make it so it didn't dig into parental feet...

Thanks for the giveaway!

My son's favourite (atm) is Kai. He is quick to act, quick to attack, and quick to get into trouble - sounds just like my boy :)

they have names...LOL...my son just makes up his own, and they change constantly depending on which game he is playing at the time!
Lord Garmaddon. Why? Because he likes to destroy things, same like my son. Smash, smash!

My seven year old is pretty partial to Kane. I love that his strength is 'stealth'. So many times I've woken up with a fright in the middle of the night to see a serious, quiet little face staring at me from beside me bed! And when it comes to nicking things from the pantry, he is stealth personified!

Kai is my son's favourite, he always comes first in the little stories he writes on my computer.

The Green Ninja Lloyd who is The Ultimate Spinjitzu Master is the most interesting fun because it is his destiny to defeat Lord Garmadon, which is also Lloyd's father. He is rider of the Ultra Dragon(very awesome) and after being really mixed up,has finally come into his own.
My daughters (lol they are tomboys!) definately love the RED fire KAI xxx The 2 year old, aptly named Sam (antha!) thinks that he is like Fireman Sam, and the 5 year old loves karate so KAI is someone that reminds her of it! My 1 year old goes with it xx

Nya, because she is a very strong character and a good role model for my 5-yr-old daughter!
My son love Sensei Wu because he is master of the Power of Creation. He'll do his best to defeat the evil ones and lead to victory! What a hero! and just like Sensei Wu, my son is the hero of my life.

My nephews favorite is Kai because he may be a hot head but a perfect teammate. We love Ninjago, its stops all the fighting :)
Nya is secretly my litter master 4 years + 360 days favourite. I asked him Why ... "because she has nice hair Mum why else!" he says. I had to laugh.
Sensai Wu because his name is just awesome fantastic! I will give this name to my next pet!
I can't wait until my boys get into lego - although I know it'll drive me batty - at the moment my youngest would probably try to eat it - great giveaway Trish

Lloyd, the master of Spinjitsu, because he evoked the power of the ultimate warrior. Apparently.

Jay, the blue Ninja of Lightning,
Defeating the evil skeletal force with speed.
Speaking his mind, nunchucks combine,
With his powerful art of spinjitzu.

Other members of his team unite
Nya, Kai, Cole and Sensei Wu.
Trying to stop control from Lord Garmadon
And bring peace in their mystical pursuits.

My son is truly obsessed,
With lego and all martial arts.
Combining these two, Lego Ninjago will be
The most satisfying, imaginative play fight.
Boo would lose his mind if he saw these.

And I am not showing him, nor am I asking what his favourite is as we would all like some sleep tonight as I am sure he wouldn't be able to make up his mind and I will find him standing next to me at 3am saying 'I changed my mind, my favourite is...'

So it would be best if he just won some of these so he can play with them and we can all get some sleep ;)

My daughter said NYA because she can take care of herself. Also because she has two really cool daggers.
My son loves 'The Black Ninja' because of his cool doom weapon. I'mm not sure if he has a name, and frankly I am surprised I do not know this, considering the amount of times I have watched 'Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitsu" I could certainly sing you the catchy theme song!
xx
My son's favourite is Zane, he likes that he is white and like my son, he's quiet, loyal and very smart. He's often teased, like my son unfortunately cause they have odd ways.

It's all a bit beyond me but I'm told Lloyd is the Ninja to be. He is the Ultimate Spinjitzu Master and no one battles evil better or faster.
I am ecstatic that my daughter has finally moved into the ninja go series from just barbie and girly stuff. She loves all of them, but mostly the red ninja (she knows the name but I can't remember). I'd love to have one of these guys to encourage her even more and let her know that girls can play with "boy's toys" as well. Plus it's starting her interest in wing chung, which is good.
