I thought you packed the ... {Giveaway}

There is nothing like it - road trips and camping holidays .Whether it be the sense of finding a new exotic location or the experience of getting away from housework it all , traveling has always been on the list of top five of things I love to do best.

Hopefully after January 7th when I finish #12 chemo - we are heading on away camping for a week or two - with the caravan - to have a little break and some family time...with the boggie boards because they were left at home when we went to Western Australia ...now we have 6 of them.

We have camped with our tent many times , now I prefer a little comfort sleeping under a million stars with a solid roof . On our WA roadtrip we free and bush camped without power many nights because we had a battery to run lights and a gas fridge, stove, toilet and shower too. Soft ! who me ?

A beach was behind those bushes ....
We had water views after a shower of torrential rain
On our travels we still set up 'camp' outside to eat , with gate-crashing bugs, mozzies and flies, sharing stories and bonding around the camp table, as you do, and as people have done through generations ...in the glow of a camping lantern (because camp fires are risky banned through summer).

One thing we needed was a better lantern at night - we just didn't want to blow cash on something that didn't work well or broke.

I've now found the perfect light - we haven't actually taken it camping yet but did test it out at home. It's from Coleman's - they have everything covered for family camping trips

CPX6 X2 Lantern & Flashlight in One – If James Bond went camping this would be his lantern!
Flick the button at the top for the hidden flashlight to pop out the top.

A bonus that if your lantern does run out of charge you can still have light from the flashlight [1.5hrs].

The CPX X2 run on CPX technology which means that the power pack for this lantern can be used across all of the CPX6 range. You can also choose whether to use the power pack or disposable batteries.. RRP $99.99  - NOTE- (4D cell batteries or rechargeable pack sold separately)

[PS Lantern run time is fantastic - Low 100 hrs/ Med 40 hrs / High 20hrs]

I am coveting an easy Lounger – is there a better way for me to relax this Christmas and it has two drink holders ! RRP $79.99

I wish we were going back here to Lucky Bay.

A nifty stocking filler for whole family are waterproof Playing Cards – how clever ! this will make it fun to continue the card game on the boat, at the beach or even in the pool. RRP $7.99
We have amassed an arsenal of Coleman's outdoor camping gear over the years - lanterns , stoves, coolers, tents, sleeping bags and airbeds make up the long list of their popular products.[The tent is buried in our shipping container or shed at the moment.]

Because our family is so big we don't fit in one tent. The little sisters take turns sleeping with big teenage sister in the 2-man tent. When it was the 4 y.o. turn she was a bit scared as she had to go to bed a couple hours before big sister. We told her she could take her special Winnie the Pooh torch into the 2-man tent and put it on if she felt scared. When we went to check on her 15 mins later we nearly died laughing ..... she was using her torch to make disco lighting inside the tent. I think the possums in the trees were a bit bemused!

You think you are soft! We love the fun of camping and sleeping under canvas, but along with as many camping substitions for furtiture and appliances that I can get my hands on, it's not unheard of for us to pack the bar fridge into the trailer when we camp at a powered site! Everyone on the sites kill themselves laughing as we unpack it and load the drinks and meat in it but we always have easy fresh food! (Hopefully that counts as a camping story?)

We can't wait til our kids are old enough to do what you and your family are doing!! Can't wait to hear all about it come Jan/Feb! As a teenager I spent every holiday away camping, in NZ, and I just love it!

What a cool giveaway!
I don't have any particularly great camping stories, so I'll go with James Bond. My favourite James Bond actor is Sean Connery and my favourite movie is Octopussy (and to this day I still can't say that title without a smug giggle... how very un-mature of me!)
My idea of camping is "glamping"! If I win this fabulous prize, it could be the icing on the cake to finally convince me to take the family "camping"! 3 against 1, I think I may lose out!

Next month we are about to set off on a trek from Townsville to Darwin in our 4WD towing our camping trailer. We love camping gear from Colemans and this light would be a welcome addition to our kit. I can already picture our little man carrying the lantern whilst his sister looks for possums and other wildlife with the torch! But more practically it would be very handy for meal times. James Bond always sees plenty of action and adventure and our family is just the same - whether it's Fraser Island, The Cape or our adventures to come we promise this lantern a bright future!

Hubby's got it in his head
To take us camping (I say it with dread!)
But I must admit I'm excited too
And this Coleman prize would certainly do
To make my first time more comfortable and calm
As hubby turns on his outback charm!

Camping is not my thing,
but the Coleman lamp I will bring,
when we go away, to spot possums out at play
We are setting off on our first camping adventure with the kids. They are almost 4, 2 1/2 and 9 months. Am I crazy? Maybe but our parents did it, so we think we can do it too. It would be great to win some more camping gear. The light would be a welcome addition to our equipment.
It would be great for those late summer dinners to light up our bbq area, or to take with us on a camping weekend, so the younger kids dont get to scared of the dark while we are in the bush
We've just come back from camping at Wilson's Prom and had everything but frickin' lights! So once the sun set, I couldn't read or do anything! Would love a lantern to help while away the hours before midnight!
we are a family of campers, we often pack up and go away for a day or week. I need this lantern because i'm sick of looking like a knob head with hubs head lamp on lol
I'd like to win this lamp to donate to my scout group... gas lanterns are being phased out as a safety measure and I'm SOOO over sizzling sausages to raise money for gear!

(Best wishes for your chemo.)

Quit Oftern I am left in the dark,
I Poop myself when i hear the dogs bark!
I would like to get a bit of light,
Back in my life, thats bright!
So I think the lantern will help me do that,
Until the batteries go flat!
We had our first camping trip with the kids a few weeks ago. They loved it. Wombats running around the campground at night, sniffing and shuffling around the tent, best hamburgers ever, sitting around the campfire telling stories and laughing....its magic. Hubby and I always camped, but wanted to wait until kids were a bit older to get out and get started again.

I,m off camping at Woodenbong on the 28th of December and going to the loo during the night is quite scary
last time I was there I had one foot out of my tent ,then saw how dark it was and thought of what may be lurking in or near the toilet so decided I,d wait til daylight but having to keep my legs crossed the rest of the night I could,t sleep so I would love to put a little light on the show

Have liked your Facebook page and shared
As a mother of two boys who love the great outdoors. It's time I got my act together to head out and discover. But really need to equip myself first!
Every year I take my children camping, usually to folk festivals over Summer. We always had a big dome tent and plenty of tarps to set up our little hideaway base for the week with few issues.
One year I decided I was going to be lazy and borrow a friend's caravan for the week. No setting up or sleeping on the ground... plus a working kitchen/fridge!
It poured with torrential rain the whole week, the roof hatch was stuck and water ran inside and onto the bed (directly underneath!) and the floor. I spent more time cleaning up and finding a tarp to cover the roof just so we could sleep on the very narrow couch cushion on the floor!
So I've never even considered taking a caravan since. Camping it IS! All the way. ;)

My recent post 10 things worth knowing… this week.
I still remember my Dad taking my sister and I camping for some 'bonding' time and he put the tent up on an ants nest.....it made for some interesting moments trying to get it down and moved without getting bitten!
