Wordless Wednesday ~ Soaking in the Sun

A free ranging Lizard at Taronga Western Plains Zoo, Dubbo ! ...Shameless I did not Google what kind of Lizard he /she is ? It was so fearless I got within metres of him to snap this with zoom lens , no less.

he doesn't look particularly impressed with you though. You could have asked him to smile and say cheese.

In the north west I have seen these guys called a TAtA lizard - because when the ground gets too hot they lift up a leg off the hot sand and wave to cool the foot and it looks like they are waving goodbye (ta ta)

We have similar ones here and they freak me out. Thankfully they're more scared of me than I am of them and they high tail it when they hear you.

I love Bearded Dragons, they are my fave kind of lizard! When we lived up at the in-laws the were always scurrying around here and there and they do get quite fearless after a while, especially if you leave food out for them. Excellent picture! Hope you had a good time at the zoo, I've always wanted to go to Western Plains. One day maybe.

Very cool! He (she?) looks like he's about to break into song. Love that zoo. Still remember some of my earlier visits, when we were perched on the little bike seats as my parents rode around :)

I've no idea what kind of lizard it is either - and I don't think I have any desire to know either!

Great photo Trish.
I got chased by that type of Lizard when I was hanging out my washing a few years back, LOL. I won't go near them again.

That's a very cute lizard. Normally they are too quick to take a photo of, you did well to snap it.

mmm soaking in the sun sounds like a good idea to me!!!

though not that close to a lizard!!!

You totally need a cakepop machine (it was so easy!) 100 x better than the cake pop trays!!

xx
