Things I know - I' m getting off the naughty list & a Christmas giveaway

I am a terrible Christmas planner. I know I leave everything to the last week and then stress about it. I even go shopping for things I have forgotten last minute specials on Christmas Eve.

I know, I am still up at midnight wrapping presents I’ve had for ages- *slap me* as my husband desperate for a few hrs sleep , is forced to hold this bit or that as I tape , add ribbon, or search for a Christmas bag to fit.

Christmas morning, I know I am usually rushing to gather together my Christmas dinner contribution or if we are the host – it’s chaos. I know it drives my husband nuts.

This year I am now the proud recipient of Katrina - The Organised Housewife’s Christmas Planner –a lovely E-book chock full of ideas and lists that I know would make Mrs Claus jealous and will certainly get me off the naughty list.

Imagine 45 pages full of  incredible Christmas planning  starting with calendars, checklists and a weekly planner.

I know the Santa Letter, Gift Lists, including a daily advent list, stocking suffers and shopping list is going to save me time and stress. This year I will seriously be behind in my planning since we won’t get home till late November. I'll need all the help I can get.

Katrina has even thought of the hidden gift list ...I have a terrible memory and forget where I have stashed gifts for the kids. I find stuff months later.

I know my DH will not  ...

The Organised housewife has covered  just about everything , guest list, card list, budget , recipe list , meal and baking plans, traditions and holiday packing list and an itinerary.

I know I'll have more time to eat ...

Ooh looks like a great book. I am never organised enough for Christmas or birthdays or any special occasion really. We put the kids presents on Christmas layby this year so that should help. My best Christmas tip is to not go anywhere Christmas morning. we have 3 families (long story) so unfortunately one has to miss out as we will only do lunch and dinner. while the kids are so young we cherish time relaxing at home, opening presents slowly and taking it all in.

I love her diary. I'm going to go hound her to make me a 2012 diary! I'd buy that in a heartbeat.

I'm trying not to stress too much about Christmas this year! So far nobody has anything planned and we're in the middle of the ''who's doing what and at whose house'' routine. I wish I had someone to organise it all for me!
So nice to know that I am not the only one who leaves christmas organization till the last minute!
My christmas tip....Christmas is supposed to be about fun, family and laughter so don't stress!
Christmas is always fairly low-key here, but it doesn't hurt to be organised. I think the more experience I have with this stuff, the more lackadaisical I become.

My favourite Christmas tip is to get the whole family involved in decorating the Christmas tree. It is guaranteed to put the Christmas spirit in any grinch!

ps great to have found your blog :)

Ohh, I have been eyeing this off. I always had Christmas planned and was always all ready by November until I got married, so my top tip is to not let your husband's lax approach to the holidays take over your love of planning for the day!!!
My best idea is when it comes to those gifts for the neighbour etc. I include baking to my advent things to do. They are easy to bake things and each child gets to make their own different recipe. We talk about giving to people who are not expecting thing and those that need it. Then we have fun packaging everything and delivering them to the surprised recipients. My children learn how to bake, the importance of giving and the pleasure giving can give to all. Infact the discussion about what to make this year has alreay start and this is ready to be created.

This planner sounds amazing - I need all the help I can get when it comes to Christmas planning (just quietly I am not the greatest planner or organiser in the universe...) But I do try to get my christmas presents organised early in a big layby, that's my saviour every year!

The planner looks really great, mine looks more like an exercise book.
I know that for me, Christmas is really easy now that the kids and even the grandkids are older, gift giving has become gift card giving. Easy to buy, easy to hide, easy to wrap, everybody gets to choose their own gifts so gets exactly what they want in the post Christmas sales.
My recent post something I haven't made in quite a while.....
What a great planner i would love this my tip is have a countdown calender / list and make a menu if you organise yourself the holiday runs alot smoother.
My tip is: put your husband onto the christmas wrapping well before Christmas Eve (as presents come in, get him to wrap them...) That way he can get his sleep and you can get stuck into the mince pies and milk! I used to be very organised for Christmas when I had two children, but since having my third and fourth it's totally gone to pot! An organiser like this might even guarantee us all a RELAXED and FUN Christmas, rather than a FRANTIC and CRAZED Christmas (I HAVE to remember to get the boys to write their classroom Christmas cards BEFORE December this year - all 70 of them, ugh!).

awsome planner! handy to have!

My tips:- I'm so festive I have a few:

Bake cookies, chocolates or cupcakes, decorate nicely and wrap with clear cellophane and give as gifts if you are on a buget.

If you are hosting Christmas Lunch or Dinner don't be shy to ask people to contribute by bringing a plate- takes the burden off you!

Children love lots of little presents rather than one big one- that works out cheaper!

Thanks for the opportunity xoxo

My favourite tip is create a tradition to do every year, your kids will more likely remember what you did as a family more than what presents they got .

Excellent! just what i need! My tip is to organise the recipes for the week following christmas to use up all the leftover ham. I hate freezing it and get so sick of eating but if its hidden in quiche, muffins, fried rice etc it goes really fast.
My recent post Ooh thats Pinteresting & Pinning and Singing - Linking it up!
Favorite Christmas tip? It's not for everyone, but I just keep a long, long list leading up to Christmas, and then do all my purchasing in the 48 hour shop opening. Love shopping at 2am, often my husband and I split the list and the phone each other from all over the centre. I love the rush and the hype, and it also stops me from procrastinating- I can't just wait and see if I can get something better, I buy it and be done with it.
My recent post Doubting
This looks so good (I just bought one:) My biggest christmas tip is to stop and breathe - so many get caught up in the organising, gifts and celebrating - it is after all about family and friends. Make sure you make time for them.
