Pinocchio is and always will be one of my favourite movies . The kindly Geppetto , Figaro (cat) , Jiminy cricket (Pinocchio's conscience) and the Blue Fairy. I am in awe that Pinocchio is actually 70 years old! Who would have thought.
Though animation has evolved and improved so much in 70 years. Pinocchio is still so clever and advanced all things considered. Re-watching it the first time in years I fell in love all over again.
The magical, animated tale of a wooden puppet boy made my Geppetto, who carves clocks and toys. One night Geppetto makes a wish on a star and the Blue fairy turns Pinocchio into a living puppet. It is up to Pinocchio to earn the chance to become a real boy. Along the way he faces a few misadventures.
I loved the animation and choreography of the dancing puppets and the singing Pinocchio "I’ve Got No Strings”. The icon song of Disney - 'When you wish upon a star'. Love !
The classic moral of the story and good vs bad. The funny one liners and quotes ;
'The boy who won't be good might just as well be made of wood.'
'Knock your block off'
the more I watch the more I laugh.
Pinocchio is suitable for all the family. I think it is so important parents watch movies / DVD's with their children. There are some mildly scary bits that may affect some children , nothing that concerned my boys though.
I can appreciate the humour I missed as a child 'and the bits I wouldn't probably have understood - the ace up the sleeve of Honest John, the Mona Lisa and graffiti (when Lampwick srikes his match on it).
The original "bottom" wiggle of Mr Stromboli (aka Lisa Maree wiggle).
The bonus DVD has extra songs too , facts about the movie, the making of Pinocchio, deleted scenes and a whole lot more.
The bad news is Pinocchio was only released on Blu Ray and DVD for a limited time. You have only 2 weeks and 2 days before Pinocchio will be spirited away, back into the Disney vault
The good news is that I have one giveaway pack for one lucky reader - it's your chance to grab a Pinocchio 70th Anniversay Platinum Edition Blu-ray and DVD valued at $49.95.

I still think Lion King, with Hakuna Matata, is one of the best.

Delete my comment if you need to. I won`t be offended :D
I have NEVER seen Pinocchio. It is a crime!
My favourite animated Disney film growing up (and still now!) was The Little Mermaid- I think it was because the sebastion the crab always made me laugh. But my brother and I used to love MIghty Ducks and Cool Runnings as well and literally watched them over and over and over and over again!

I think my top 5 would be
Cars
Wall E
The Lion King
The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe
Toy Story
I recently bought a $5 cheapie version of Pinocchio from Foodland & the kids both loved it! It'd be great to have it in HD with all new animation!
