Aussie Wordless Wednesday
Still not 100 % but Kim thinks it could be an Emperor Gum moth ? I wish I'd seen the wings opened but he flew into my hair |
Bee to the blossom, moth to the flame; Each to his passion; what's in a name?

I love what you can find when you are outside! Unique and interesting doesn't have to mean big mammals and birds. It's gorgeous.
Those are great photos! Though I'd be a bit jumpy if it went into my hair! Happy WW! x
Great pics, though I think I'd have been screaming too much to take a photo if it was that close to me! Happy WW! xx
Eeeek! That is one weird looking creature!
I am terrible with anything that crawls. Not sure how I'll go when Baby T is at the stage when kids get fascinated with bugs!
I'm so grateful to have a big 7yo boy who loves bugs and beetles and all things that I find nauseating (like this one, moths are particularly disturbing to me) who can play with them, learn from them and then set them free far from me!
great shots but I hate moths. they give me the heebie-jeebies
I've sent the link of your blog to an entomologist friend. Maybe she can help with identification.
Glad it didn't fly into my hair!
Awesome shots! But ewwwwww!!! Bugs creep me out!
Happy WW!
Yeah I would have run screaming from this. Crikey!
Oh wow, that is HUGE! Great photos.
woah! that is one big insect!!
Oh my goodness! Couldn't tell what it was. I just came over from Eden's blog, which had a picture of a huge huntsman. UGH. This is almost pretty in comparison. Great photos.
