This footbridge is from holidays of my youth.Children used to jump off the footbridge by climbing over the railing onto pillons.We crossed over on Thursday evening. My brother was there too showing his children the bridge. Sadly, I heard tonight (my husband told me) a 13yr old girl drowned at this very spot on Friday less than 24hrs later.I cannot imagine her family's grief.

Update
Yesterday's major paper said the girl most likely hit her head on a submerged object ...local hoons throw shopping trolleys , car doors and everything they can drag over to toss off the bridge.
Friends erected a memorial /warning but there were still kids jumping off who didn't care.
Beautiful photos! I especially love the one of the two boys running down the boardwalk on the beach, wish I could be there with my own kiddo :)

How sad that a place that's been so special to you for so long witnessed such a tragedy. May your memories continue to be good ones, and may the little girl's family find some comfort someday.
I must say, your photography is incredible. You capture the spirit of your family's life with such vibrancy.
