Lest we forget - we get up again and face it head on.

We pause and remember - the unsung heroes.Today I'm grateful for the Anzacs and Rupert.

Reverse

These are replica's of my husband's Grandfather Rupert's War medals 1914 - 1919.

Tomorrow April 25th 'Anzac Day' we will march in Remembrance with the boys' school. It's Joel's turn this year to march wearing the medals.

The community marches around the centre of town ; before the Anzac Day Service at the Cenotaph 11am. The students march in school uniform even on school holidays, behind the school banner through crowd lined the streets.

Rupert, was a Lighthorse Man enlisting at 21yrs old and thankfully returned in August 1919.

How many Anzac biscuits is too many ?
 They shall grow not old
As we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them
Not the years condemn
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning
We will remember them
Lest we forget

It is such a sad day today I feel, every year I am saddened as we remember those touched by war.
And there is no limit to ANZAC biscuits Trish xo

I cannot stop - till I run out. I feel the sadness more now than ever before.
That's such a beautiful tradition - the children marching. Anzac day always fills me with gratitude but sadness too.
My recent post Déjà vu
Such a humbling day, but I bet it's a little harder on you than most Trish. Hugs x
