Family Movie Night ~ {Peter Pan Giveaway}

Peter Pan is one of my favorite Disney movies, with beautiful animation that carries you off into a totally different world! The animation is just so clever, imagine - pre-digital and all - how talented were artists of old.

Last Saturday night we had a family movie night. It is a great way to snuggle and connect with your kids, if they can keep still and not hog the blanket or the recliner chair.

With a sprinkle of pixie dust, the Darling children are flying toward the second star on the right , straight on till morning and Never Never Land.

Home to Peter, Tink, the Lost Boys, Tiger Lily , and the evil Captain Hook and his pirates - this enchanted island is a magical place.

Once again, trouble is brewing in Never Land.

Captain Hook is a typical Disney, goofy and bumbling villain,  intent on defeating Peter Pan as much as he is from escaping the tick-¬‐tocking crocodile that once ate his hand.

Peter Pan, a boy with a broken shadow, is filled with adventure and spunk.  Wendy John, and Michael all dream of adventure, and want to find some magic in life, as childhood slips away  because they are all growing up.

Tinkerbell is the lovable cheeky pixie/fairy. Tink is independent, sassy, smart, and  some say she was the first empowered girl that Disney created. Though she gets jealous and is a bit naughty , Tinker Bell’s special feature story is truly magical. I loved the old silent film version with real children on DVD. [The Blu has different special features.]

What I enjoyed the most was watching older versions of this classic movie, like going back in time and I didn’t know it began as a stage play.

Overall, I think this is a wonderful, magical film. It is a classic that you’ll love introducing to your children and always carry it in your heart! My boys have watched it a few times now.

Peter Pan is available in high definition picture and sound for the first time on Blu-‐ray from 5 June
2013.

I do love Captain Hook. That ‘woe is me’, put upon by the crocodile and Peter Pan, pirate. He really does strive to be dastardly and I give him extra points for that.
I woud love to be Tinkerbell, so I could sprinkle fairy dust on everyone, and my dust would have the added power of being able to convince people that housework is fun, and thatbthey need to do it now!l
This is tricky - I am so tired at the moment (end of term is busy with report cards and interviews) that I want to be sleeping beauty so I can SLEEP!

I do love Tinkerbell! For someone so little, she has a big personality and a little bit of fire in her soul. Love that!

I must admit the prospect of being able to fly and being so tiny that nobody notices you, could be entirely very useful. I would love to have a day in the wings of Tinkerbell. I would be fascinated to sit in on my son's school class and find out exactly what stories from home our kid's divulge. As we know nothing is sacred when it comes to children.

I grew up watching the crazy antics of Donald Duck, so I'll always have a soft spot for him. I remember fondly waiting for Sunday nights to watch Disney on TV!
My kids are past this age so I'm not worried about entering the comp, but seeing this reminded me I saw a panto of Peter Pan when I was only small. It might even have been the first live theatre I ever saw!

Tink! She is enchanting and it always makes me cry when she loses her sparkle.
My favourite character has always been Wendy - so sweet and pretty, but the "mother" of everyone else.

My all time favourite Disney character is Dumbo. An adorable blue elephant, that can fly! How he fueled my fantasies as a child.
Tod and Copper from The Fox and the Hound. I can't choose one over the other, the most adorable best friends, and cutest Disney characters. Showing that natural enemies can indeed be best buddies.
I love Ariel from the Little Mermaid. She was always my favourite and I dreamt of all the great adventures I could have under the sea if I was just like her
The Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland because he loves to drink tea like me!
Jiminy Cricket. I am old enough that his "When You Wish Upon A Star" means Disney is on, and magic is in the air.

Rapunzel, because I have my very own Rapunzel living with me. :)
My 5 yr old has hair long enough that she sits on it!! (true story!)
Hers is a rich dark brown though, but she still loves to be called Rapunzel, and to watch her on dvd.
Peter Pan would make a nice change as we don't own it.
Our favourite character is Mickey Mouse... although we also love Lightning McQueen (Disney-Pixar)... I haven't ever seen Peter Pan, so can't wait to share with our kids.
All time favorite would be Simba but I'm a sucker for lightning McQueen, when he pushes the king across the finish line I always get a bit teary
'The bear of very little brain' is my favourite Disney character. I love watching the antics of Winnie the Pooh and his friends. Makes me feel ever so clever!
I love Tod from the Fox and The Hound, he saves his friend Copper even when he has been ignoring him. True friendship!
My fav is Alice in Wonderland shes so tenacious, bold and i can really relate to her curiosity.
Snow White...cleaning up after seven men and always looking beautiful? Her happy smile is infectious!
Dopey the dwarf who's mute,
I think is really cute,
His clumsiness brings me to tears,
And just like me he's got large ears.
I love the princesses...
Pretty faces, soft long tresses,
And flowing dresses!

My favourite? Belle,
I know her well,
From many evenings spent under the rose’s spell!

Thanks for the chance!
