Things that make me uncomfortable

Day 3 ...

  • Talking about my future ...so I'm not going there!
  • Talking to strangers or people in my real life about my blog. I feel a bit sheepish weird about what I overshare ; things I can't say out loud or talk to people about in real life.
  • The amount of time I spend on the Internet. To be honest while I do a lot of research and 'educational' reading, I'm still uncomfortable with the time I waste fluffing about with everyone's dramas on Facebook, Twitter , or reading funny & stupid jokes.

My husband would agree with this !
  • This Sunday May 5th is the first ever Switch Off Sunday – a time to digitally detox and reconnect face-to-face. I'm uncomfortable that my greatest time cruncher is the Internet and digital devices.

Research reveals a third of people are now connected to technology for between 8 and
16 hours every day ...ok I'm not anywhere near to the maximum and I don't own a smartphone that is Internet connected, unless I am at home.

It is scary !

While we all aspire to make the time to start that dream home renovation project or travel the world, new research has revealed we’re struggling to make simple lifestyle changes with the few spare minutes we have in our daily lives.
My husband is going to be hiding my laptop and iPad watching me carefully to make sure my world doesn't end ! I think I'm going to be very uncomfortable not being able to check on everyone and my emails. It grinds his gears when I stay up late on my devices.

  • The last thing that makes me uncomfortable is telling you  ...I wish no-one had to face a breast cancer diagnosis ever again.
One in eight women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime and every day 7 women die every day in Australia from Breast Cancer.

It also makes me uncomfortable asking people to sponsor me for Mother's Day Classic ...though every $5 or $10 counts -  I know many of us have financial pressures but you can help fund research into a cure by supporting my fundraising efforts and donating online

I'm taking part in the Mother's Day Classic raising funds for breast cancer research. Every extra dollar raised goes towards vital research into the prevention and cure of breast cancer. I'll be participating or volunteering along with 120,000 Australians nationwide who are making a difference on Mother's Day .

So tell me, what makes you uncomfortable?

Disclaimer : I wasn't paid to tell you about it , though I received an 'Inspire' book, Guide to Sydney parks book and a children's travel game and yo-yo via amaysim PR.

I hardly ever mention it and people give such quizzical looks ....WT ?
You have me thinking now.... Could I do it, go offline for 24 hours.... I will have to consider this...
My recent post I'm going to tell you a secret, but if you meet me in person you are NOT allowed to do it!

Go on Vicky - if I can do it - you should do it too.
Best of luck in the Mother's Day Classic! Don't be uncomfortable asking for sponsorship - it's such a great cause! And you're actually doing something instead of just asking for money. And people can always say no (although I hope they don't!).

Yes, I do shut up the lap top ...just not for a complete 24hrs !
I know people are just so shocked ;) about blogging.
Switch off is a great initiative. It is scary how much time is spent online.

I don't like to talk about my blog either. It's my little secret. Not one person, except Man, in my real life knows about it. I think I'd feel violated if friends or family read it. Doesn't make much sense.

Mine isn't a secret but i've never told anyone - exactly - , then somehow they found it and read but don't say anything. That is weirder.
I know people who have blogs, personally and colleagues too. I make an effort to not read their blogs. I will if I ever come out with mine but like you, I think it would be weird to read their posts and not share my own.
Enjoy switching off tomorrow! X

I'm switching off tomorrow too, Trish. It makes me nervous. Which means that I really do need to do it :)
Only bloggers understand other bloggers. Everyone else just thinks we're weird! lol...until they start their own blog and want advice. Good luck with switching off tomorrow!
I dont tell anyone that i blog i don't even share my blog stuff on my personal Facebook page it makes me uncomfortable as well .
I am doing this, and even though I didn't mention it I am uncomfortable too telling some people I blog. Not sure why LOL

I feel the same as you - I don't like to tell people that I meet about my blog! It makes me feel really uncomfortable to think that someone I know is reading what I say online!
And then family start talking about what I have written, and I am like "Hey, how do you know that" and then they look at me as if I am stupid....telling me that they read about it the other day - freaks me out every time!!!

I am really uncomfortable about being away from my Motorhome when I leave my boys behind....silly but I can't help thinking about what "If" situations.

Um I think that I am near that maximum usage online!!!
