We Will Remember Them ...
My recent post Wordless Wednesday #7
These are pretty amazing. The history buff in me would love to see them IRL, of course being fully aware that tomorrow is in no way about the medals. I'm glad your husband's grandfather made it home to his family.
P.S- There is no such thing as too many ANZAC bickies. Ever.

I think it's wonderful that younger generations are taking up the baton and marching on ANZAC Day. Lest we forget.

Hi Trish, I didn't even know you could get replicas of medals! My Dad still has the medals his father received for fighting in WWII, and has framed them so they hang in pride of place in his study :-)
How special to have such history and that he came home. A great idea to have replicas made. I bet the boys will be as proud as punching marching tomorrow as they grow and learn more about ANZAC day. x
Thank you for sharing these. So glad to hear he returned safe when so many didn't. Such an important day.

I hope this isn't a double post - my frst attempt seems to have failed!
These are pretty amazing. The history buff in me would love to see them IRL - although knowing of course that it is not at all the point of such an occasion. I'm also thankful to hear that your husband's grandfather returned home to his family. Oh, and as a side note, there s no such thing as too many ANZAC bickies... ever! :)

A great tradition to march wearing these medals. Also a wonderful opportunity to teach our kids the importance of Anzac Day x

Great photos Trish. I cannot wait until my 2 are old enough to take to dawn service. I had a few photos of the ship my grandpa served on but I have technical issues (to put it nicely!!) aswell at the moment. I was wondering about the salt in the anzac bickies is that because it helped to preserve them?
Lest we forget.
