Quirky, green stocking fillers for kids this Christmas {giveaway}

My boys were excited Little gardeners yesterday when we potted out our Mr Fothergill’s Mini Sunflowers in 1500mL pot and little Windowsill Pot  - Lolly Plant (Stevia).

It is a fun green activity that will keep the kids and their green thumbs busy . I just hope their thumbs are greener than mine and they leave the dirt outside.

The Windowsill Pot varieties include Lolly Plant (Stevia), which is a healthy alternative to sugar that is three hundred times sweeter, Lemonade Plant (Lemon Balm), Mini Strawberry (Alpine Strawberry) and Mini Tomato. There will make perfect stocking fillers -  at $3.95 each they are a bargain and come complete with soil pellet and seed - ready to go.

1500ml pots
It comes with Jiffy soil pellets, seeds and easy recipe ideas for kids such as strawberry jelly and frozen berry smoothies to teach children healthy living. The boys thought is was magic how when we added the water to the pellet - then the dirt grew inside the pot.

The Little Gardeners range also include the larger (1500mL) Grow & Create Pots. The boys loved  the brightly coloured [reusable] plant pot, and the sticker sheets for them to personalise their own mini garden in a pot. The external packaging is also an activity sheet with games, quizzes and colouring in.

Grow & Create products include Flower Power, with edible flowers like Pansies and Nasturtiums, Tickling Mimosa, an intriguing plant that responds to touch, Mini Sunflowers and Mini Tomato.

You will find these cool green kids’ products in the gardening aisles of Bunnings, Kmart and independent garden retailers .

I know they will be a great way to keep my boys occupied at home during the school holidays. We have ideas to plant more vegetables in our big 'recycled' tractor tyres. The electric fence is keeping the cows away now.

Gardening with kids of any age is a lot of  fun. Plus projects are an educational opportunity guaranteed to keep kids busy and learning about Mother Nature.

I would love to grow my own onion and garlic. A staple ingredient for so many things and then you don't have to worry about dashing up the store, last minute to get that essential onion for dinner! xx

If I had a whole lot of time to nurture a big garden, I would love to grow some giant sunflowers again. I used to grow them way taller than myself and they'd always make me happy!
What a great stocking filler!

The kids love playing in the garden, and I'd love to grow the foods they love to eat (strawberries, beans, pumpkin, broccolini), and tomatoes...I'd love for the kids to eat them raw...at the moment, they avoid them like the plague.
Oh wow, how cool are they! This is the kind os stuff my daughter is interested in. So far this year she has grown parsley, basil, coriander & mushrooms.
Defiantly make great stocking fillers.

I would grow Tomatos, Shellotts and Strawberrys, so i did have to spend so much in the supermarket.

Thanks trish. Great idea. I only have a little balcony which is often sea swept so Ive given up on plants but I think these could be perfect, and if they fail, not too much bother.

I'd I'd I would love to grow some tomatoes, parsley, mint and strawberries. they may not make the best a salad together but i can make may interesting and tasty meals with the help of these ingredients
Honestly, if I could grow anything, it would be that illusive money tree my mum was always talking about.

Love the idea of these. Bummed I've already bought the kids presents, cause this would be a fab idea.

I would grow some herbs and cherry tomatoes which is very healthy snack for my little one.
Herbs, each and every kind possible. We all desperately miss our enormous herb garden from our old house, none of us realising just how often we were out there picking this or that to go in our meals and snacks.
Strawberries, as far as the eye can see!!! Nothing tastes better than home grown strawberries.
Carrots and radishes. My boys get such a thrill at their Nan's, watching hers grow, then finally getting to pull them up out of the earth and eat them. Such excitement I relate to. I was the same with my Nanna too.

I would love to grow my own chillies. They are colourful, bright and can add some spice to our cooking.
I would love it if Cucumbers would grow in our garden. I got some growing this year but the slaters came and ate them. So to have my very own home grown Cucumber would be the best thing ever.

Happy days.

I would love to grow herbs, letuce's, spinach leaves, tomatoes, beetroot and heaps of salad food because this would save me so much money!!!! We are constantly buying salad food because it is almost all that we eat :-)
I'd love to grow some snail-proof parsley and bird-proof tomatoes.

If I could plant just one thing in my yard
It would be bananas, but it might be hard
Living in Melbourne, the weather’s not great
But it’d be for my banana-mad daughter, who is aged 8
I also have two others, aged 5 and two
And even they love banana’s, yes it’s true!
It must be because they make their bodies sing
It’s always on the list when I go grocery shopping
I’m not sure If I’d succeed at my banana dream
But winning this prize would sure make me scream!
We grow herbs, mulberries, lemons BUT my favourite thing to grow is baby spinach! Need to get onto that! :)
