Giveaway $50 paypal ~ Do The Legs Come With Them? shopping up an eBay storm

As much as I love the season's hottest new trends - long line tops ; pencil skirts; eye popping , colour blocking with jeans (colbolt blue I want) and tops in every colour of the rainbow and above the knee flame red or black dresses - my first thought when seeing them advertised is

Witchery Drape Gather

Will my butt look big in that ?
Do The Legs Come With Them ?

I'm just too chicken to buy clothes online though tempted beyond measure (if I was sure of my size and all manufacturers measured up the same way)

Moving on  ...I'm also on a get fit and thinner thighs mission to run City to Surf so I am holding off buying clothes right now.

In the lead up to Mother’s Day I've been trying to figure out what to buy my mum, my MIL and myself since my hubstar hasn't a clue and still has difficulty getting the size right ..hmmm. Not all his fault.

Everyone is familiar with the way that eBay operates, as a place to make a little extra money on the side selling junk and clutter unwanted items or sourcing second hand items at great prices.

Did you know there is a whole new side of eBay with  30 brands on the Fashion Gallery, from Witchery, Marcs, Supre, Fleur Wood, City Chic and Lisa Ho to UK department store, House of Fraser in dedicated stores launched Oct 2011. It features both new and discounted stock.

eBay commenced operations in Australia in October 1999 and is Australia’s leading online marketplace with 6.9 million unique visitors in March 2012

Success of the Fashion Gallery is demonstrated best by a fashion item (clothing, shoes & accessories) now selling every 8 seconds and a dress every minute.

....interesting facts

A fashion item is bought on eBay mobile every 11 seconds.

A pair of women’s shoes is sold every 3 minutes.
A pair of men’s shoes is sold every 6 minutes.

A women’s hat is sold every 26 minutes.
A watch (male + female) is sold every 3 minutes.
A ring (male + female) is sold every 3 minutes.
A pair of sunglasses (male + female) is sold every 5 minutes.

  • fixed price products (not bought via auction) now account for 62% of all goods sold globally on eBay.
  • An item is purchased every 4 seconds in Australia through eBay mobile apps  ....fashion tops the list naturally.
  • 83% of all items available for sale on the eBay.com.au site are new.
  • 74% of all consumer electronics sales on eBay.com.au are for new products.
Looking at the numbers - eBay is fast becoming the one-stop-shop for new and branded products – from some of your favourite designer labels in the Fashion Gallery to household items and groceries at Supply Warehouse , Books, Music and movies but still with a focus on value which we know is so important for mums and families .

How do you balance the budget to suit your lifestyle and location when we can't live near major retail and fashion centres {and we have children to out maneuver} ?

We shop online !

It's so much easier ...if you can make snappy decisions it can take 5mins , choose, buy it now and pay ... or 5hrs if you are as indecisive as me .

To experience this new and growing side of eBay - I was given a $100 voucher to buy something new.

It was the hardest decision for this faux fashionista to make

Winter Fashion ?
New Boots or Shoes ?
Did I mention wine ?

I was held captive for 30mins browsing Fashion accessories sales bling, belts, bags and sunnies.

I thought perhaps I'd reward myself with new perfume or running shoes or Pj's (safe) but finally I decided ...

A handbag is sold every 5 minutes ...yes I think I will. I've been wanting a backpack style leather handbag.

Top tips for buying

1. Compare prices: Compare prices before making your purchase to ensure that you get the best possible deal.
2. Currency conversion: The high Aussie dollar means that there are some great deals to be had from international eBay sellers – just make sure you factor currency conversion and shipping into the final price.
3. Do your homework: Make sure you read the item’s description carefully and be aware of any measurements and size differences – especially if purchasing items from overseas. Get to know the seller: Research the seller and get to know their online reputation. Read feedback from buyers they’ve had previous transactions with and check their pictures and descriptions closely
4. Pay safe: Make sure you pay with a safer payment method, such as PayPal, which has recourse should you be unhappy with your experience

Top tips for shopping safely

Though the overwhelming majority of eBay transactions are trouble-free, eBay has a number of systems in place to make it a safe environment to purchase items online. For buyers, we suggest that there are several steps to ensure a safe and successful purchase on eBay:

1. Do your homework: read the item’s description carefully and look closely at all the images included in the listing
2. Get to know your seller: check their feedback
3. Pay Safe: use safer payment methods such as PayPal where is recourse if you’re unhappy with your experience.
I'll show you what I chose when it arrives.
