Christmas flew and why we didn't

I hope you all had a

╔═════════ ೋღ❤ღೋ ═════════╗
ೋ❤❤❤~MERRY CHRISTMAS~❤❤❤ೋ
╚═════════ ೋღ❤ღೋ ═════════╝

We had a lovely Christmas eve & Christmas day with our families.
Christmas just flew by for us.

It got away on me at the last minute on the 23rd after a little drama with our credit card and tickets to Canada and other items we did NOT purchase overseas totalling $13K.

The bank detected 4 suspicious transactions- Nigeria, Uruguay & ? only intercepting the last. They called DH who may or may not have thought I was having a holiday without him. A frantic phone call to me ensued. We were confident the bank had it under control. The credit card was cancelled due to the fraudulent activity.

Though we had more angst trying to get a low value credit card (incidentally we have just for internet & phone purchases) increased temporarily till new cards arrive. A had to use my lot louder voice to make them see reason - we had to live the next 2 weeks and we have automatic deductions from our account.

Finally after an hour, resulting in the transfer to our local manager, it was sorted by the push of a button.Literally before my eyes the limit magically increased.

The next day Dh's other credit card's entire network (different bank) was shutdown due to fraud (not us we hope) which he only discovered when he went to buy fuel, and it was declined. It makes you wonder how easy it is for the thieving mongels... so 'Be Aware'.

I digress ... Now my next wish for you is

╔═════════ ೋღ❤ღೋ ═════════╗
ೋ❤❤❤~Happy New Year ~❤❤❤ೋ
╚═════════ ೋღ❤ღೋ ═════════╝
filled with more love, more joy and more laughter than your hearts can contain ... your cups
overflowing :)

I hope 2011 brings better things for you and all of us.

❤❤~M'wah~❤❤

PS We do use our credit cards responsibly.

Makes you wonder how these people have access to credit cards that easily...assuming you don't splash around your details on the net or anything!! Happy New Year ~ 2011

So sorry you had to deal with all that cr*p right before Christmas. Hope it's all under control now. It is too easy for credit card theft to happen. It's happened to us too, and we also use our cards responsibly.

Hope you can get a chance to relax during the next week or so.

(Had to have a chuckle that your hubby thought you were going on holiday without him - even if only momentarily!)

Holy cow! What a scary thing to happen - and twice!!

Hope you managed to salvage a little fun and happiness from the wreckage :-)

Credit Card fraud is rampant at the moment unfortunately. My DH works with ATMS and has advised everyone we know to not use their pin number but sign only when using a debit or credit card for any transactions. It wont prevent fraud but it will deter it a little. Sorry you were one of many that this has been happening too.

That's pretty crazy. I'm just glad things worked out. Have a wonderful New Year.

I'm glad that it's resolved. It happened to my husband earlier this year, too.

Have a super happy new year! :)

I am glad to hear that things finally sorted themselves out and you were able to get access to your own funds in the Christmas madness. We are still waiting to get things sorted from our pre-Christmas dramas (organising a car and replacement credit cards amongst other items!)

I hope that 2011 finds you all fit and healthy and that you have a wonderful year that is drama and medical emergency free. Good luck with the sale and move.

Ugh!

It is bad enough these things happen to begin with...but why must they happen at these crucial times (not suggesting that any time would be a good time though!) and why does red tape have to get in the way of the innocent parties...well at least help was eventually at hand and you are now recovering....

NB: Yes, I do believe you use your credit cards responsibly...but how do we teach fraudsters to act the same??!!
