Wordless Wedensday - how to bury

When I was a little kid we had a sand box. It was a quicksand box. I was an only child... eventually.” ~ Stephen Wright ...

Can you guess who's idea it was to bury each other ?

Seriously the sandbox is the all time favourite play place at our house. My boys spend hours everyday in & taking sand out of the sandbox ...
Though I hate sand on the floor, in the pockets, in the sink and in the bed after nap time at least it gives me time to blog lol.
At preschool I always find them in the sandpit too.
Ps there a whole webpage devoted to how to bury a body in sand ...personally I'd dig the teen a little deeper !

I <3 the sandpit :) so do my girls.

My only complaint is sand in their shoes and the first thing they seem to do when we get home is run to my bedroom and take their shoes off in my bed. Sandy sheets :eew:

We have sand everywhere too - even in the bed. I love the quote btw.

When we were away last week the kids played in their cousins sand pit for an hour at a time with no adult intervention. I rally think we need to get one! Looks like your boys were having a fabulous time!

@ Christie - I mean it ;) just need to top the sand up.

@Kristine - thank you , my husband who rarely takes photos took these ...he supervised the 'burying' and spade usage (of course I'd have said too dangerous lol).

@ Tiff - I love your fort...our next sandbox with be under a fort.

@ Leechbabe - I know ... had to vacuum Sam's sheets last night , not an easy task with the portable vac.

@Catway - yes the bed here too is a mini sand pit, they don't seem to mind it, mixes in with crumbs & other boy crud.

Planning Queen - I say go for it, honestly my boys would play from early morning to last light in the sand pit ...with a little bike riding & jumping on trampoline in between. The trampoline is oft covered in sand too and wagon/cars/bikes/prams are used to ferry sand in buckets about.
Very inexpensive 'play equipment' too if hubby is handy with a few planks of wood , we used a special sheeting geotechfabric to keep sand from ground dirt...just haven't gotten around to putting the edge capping on.

@Caite - thank you !
