Weekly Winners 1 2010

Happy New year ...we're back.

We've had a busy few weeks .It's good to be back I missed my broadband internet home.
What have we been up to ?
We traveled to 1100kms to Queensland to visit family .... and the new puppies.KirraLayla

It was a long day traveling in one hit but boys handled it well both days.

Whilst there ...we met interesting creatures in the wild ...

(The same huge Goanna enjoying the concrete near BBQ facilities)
on a little bush walk.

We played in water and chilled...
We went to see the dolphins at Tin Can bay too but the queue to feed them was hundred people long so we watched instead. I couldn't get any good shots due to the crowds.

We heard it had rained in drought ravaged NSW. It was welcome relief that the dams on my FIL's farm were full. The creeks had flowed too ...and taken out the flood fence gates.

The Toolman had spent 3 days before Christmas on the tractor helping his Dad and the bulldozer man 'build' a new dam because rain was predicted.

So we cut short our Queensland roadtrip by a day and headed south well in a different direction ~ 1000kms central Western NSW to the farm to check it out.
A cousin called en route to say the ute was bogged on a back paddock track ...errr then the tractor was stuck in the mud too in the process of getting it out. He said he would be back tomorrow to 'help'.

The next day the tractor got unbogged , then re got stuck in the mud again , another vehicle helping got bogged but unstuck itself , the tractor was unbogged and any further attempt to unbog the ute were abandoned for the day.

The next day we got lucky and unstuck the ute , though the other farm vehicle got bogged
and had to be tractored out and then the finally the ute.

The small boys, the teen and his GF had a lot of fun. They caught yabbies in the spring dam and

maybe a hundred tadpoles in the overflow.

They played with sticks & stones
(why did I buy toys for Christmas ?)

They love the farm and had so much fun.

Back home it didn't take long for mischief to be had.

(yes Twin 2 [not shown] tipped half a bottle of tomato sauce on his brother's lunch)

PS I hope the small boys don't lose their love of opening and closing gates ...they have almost got the hang of it =)....
