Yield to temptation ...

it may not pass your way again.

Isn't it more sensible to make resolutions you would be tempted to keep... why do people insist on making it scary and unattainable. Why not ...

  1. Chat more over phone / Internet /Twitter/Facebook.
  2. Stop exercising. Waste of time...unless it is jumping to conclusions side-stepping responsibility, and pushing my luck!.If it weren't for the fact that the TV set and the refrigerator are so far apart, I won't have any reason to exercise at all. (~Joey Adams)
  3. Drink. Drink some more (coffee or fermented fruit & grain beverages)
  4. Eat out more take away (or take out)
  5. Gain weight
  6. Spend more time watching TV / movies.
  7. Procrastinate more.
  8. Spend less time at housework
  9. Make less money spend more.
  10. Start a bad habit: be less organised (hmm I think I qulaify for this already)!
(ps all should be read with tongue firmly in cheek)

Seriously, the New year , and a new decade, is the time to celebrate a new beginning, a time to wish all my friends and loved ones a Happy New Year.

"My Wishes in 2010
I pray God gives You…
12 Month of Happiness,
52 Weeks of Fun,
365 Days Success,
8760 Hours Good Health,
525600 Minutes Good Luck,
3153600 Seconds of Joy…and that’s all! ”

PS Been feeling emotional all day. My friend had a precious little girl born today what a special day it was. Bub arrived safe & sound after an emergency C/section and a long labour for her mum.

Tell me more

Tell me Thursday is designed to keep Wordless Wednesday ,well , wordless ...usually I FAIL.

The instructions for yesterday's post can be found here thanks to the Planning Queen's chocolately cleverness...Milky Way Sleighs

Go see her Marshmallow Christmas trees too. So oh nom ! nom ! and only 10-15mins to make.

The BAHA update ...I got my sound processor last week.

Well it is loud. Everything ! Especially my own voice. I can't yell at the kids or else I give myself the worse of it lol. My Dh thinks this is the best thing.

Sounds I haven't noticed before and the ones I tried to ignore (like Teen's tapping ~finger drumming on everything , the brothers' banging of toys /plates , footsteps on the floor and even the crinkle & shuffle of paper) are so loud . It drives me mental.

I am slowly and still getting used to it , in three months I'll go back for assessment and adjustment .The audiologist said eventually I'll get used to them and ignore them ...the sounds not the children !

I have 3 programs but it is still LOUD , I think I hear voices in conversation better .It is still hard to know as some of the other sounds are so loud , it drowns voices out.

I just can't get my head around how a screw in my head can transmit sound essentially to my brain.

Clipping the processor onto the abutment screw is tricky , it takes a few goes. A bit like a snap press button .I have to do it by feel not sight.

I get a fair bit of squealing & screeching (that awful sound feedback)...that I don't with a normal hearing aid. I hope this settles down. The latest model (which I have ~BP 100 ) is supposed to be improved on previous models that did this.

The scalp wound is pretty much healed with the screw truly bonded with the bone.It feels funny pulling /un clipping the processor but doesn't hurt a bit.

It seems a sound investment ...and my Christmas present me.

Wordless Wednesday - Summer Bliss

“Play in the sand; splash in the water; get dirty; get wet. The beach is the only place my mom doesn’t get mad about me doing that stuff. Of course I love the beach!”

Rolling down the sand hills (his favourite Wiggles song)

Shepherd boy dreaming
"If you want to know how much I love you, count the waves."

At the beach, just another day in paradise!
“Don't grow up too quickly, lest you forget how much you love the beach.”
